Owning a rental property comes with many responsibilities. To make things easier, we've put together a checklist of required rental disclosures for you to prepare.

Portland Rental Disclosures & Registration

Before we send off a lease to your prospective tenant(s), you've got just a tiny bit of homework to do. The State of Maine and the City of Portland requires that the following packet of information be completed and presented to any tenants.

E-Forms to Fill Out

1. Lead Paint

2. Radon Gas

3. Energy Efficiency

Type directly into these forms online, and then download with your changes, save, and email the completed versions back to us. We'll combine these with the other forms in the above packet and present them to the tenants along with the lease agreement.


Also, the City of Portland requires registration for both long term and short term rentals. Annual renewals of these registrations are required every January.

Per the Rent Control Ordinance approved by voters in November 2020, all landlords in the City of Portland are required to provide supplemental information on an annual basis for every unit under their purview. More information can be found via the Rental Registration link above.

Please check with your city or town to see if they require registration for both long term and short term rentals. South Portland is now considering rent control as of May 2022. Please check with your town.
